Masters Class

​

Your child will learn to draw, paint and sculpt like the great masters; Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso & more. 

We will explore a variety of mediums and create our own museum-worthy masterpieces! 

​

All supplies for this course are provided. 

Wear clothes that can get dirty. A paint shirt that can go over clothes is also a good idea.

Saturdays from 9:45-11:30am

September 11th- October 9th, 2021

​

     Week 1- Self Portrait

     Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Davinci, Rembrandt and more all painted self-portraits.

 

     Week 2- Starry Night

     Let’s recreate Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting with a special watercolor technique.

 

     Week 3- Water Lilies

     We’ll travel back in time to Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny, France and make a mixed media

     water lily pond. 

 

     Week 4- Cubism Colleograph

     Pablo Picasso's unique style will be transformed into a colleograph art piece that we will use for

     print-making. 

 

     Week 5- Pointillism

     Let's try our hand at the technique Georges Seurat used in his materpiece, "Sunday Afternoon

     on the Island of La Grande Jatte".

October 23rd-November 20th, 2021

​

     Week 1- Paper Cut Outs

     Paper cutting will be used to mimic Henri Mattise’s "The Parakeet and the Mermaid".

 

     Week 2- Tessellations

     Master this mind-bending artform that made Dutch artist, MC Escher, so well known. 

 

     Week 3- Sunflower Still Life

     Vincent Van Gogh painted ELEVEN sunflower paintings. We will paint just ONE. ;)

 

     Week 4- Water Reflections

     French impressionist Pierre Auguste Renoir created "The Skiff" in 1875. Using chalk pastels,

     our goal will be to produce water reflections.

 

     Week 5- Salt Dough Sculpture

     Become Michelangelo, the Italian sculptor.
